Joksimovic Named Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Rade Joksimovic has been named the Bison Athlete of the Week after earning the Most Valuable Player award at the MAWPC Championships en route to helping lead the squad to a Tournament Championship and its second NCAA Tournament Appearance in the last four seasons.
Joksimovic opened the MAWPC Tournament with a big game, scoring five goals while adding an assist in a 13-10 win over La Salle. The senior from Novi Sad, Serbia scored the eventual game-winning goal to open the fourth quarter as Bucknell blanked the Explorers to pull away in the final eight minutes.
Joksimovic added two goals and one assist in a tough semifinal win over Navy, pulling Bucknell within one in the third period as the Bison scored four unanswered goals to take a 7-5 win over the Mids.
In the championship game against George Washington, Joksimovic scored two goals while adding an assist to help Bucknell claim its second MAWPC Tournament Championship since his arrival to Lewisburg in 2016. In addition to being named Most Valuable Player of the Tournament, Joksimovic also earned a spot on the First Team. Joksimovic has been named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament for three of his four seasons in Lewisburg.
Joksimovic and the Bison will look to extend their season when they travel to Cambridge, Mass. for a game against undefeated and ninth-ranked Harvard.
