Vlasceanu Named MAWPC Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Andu Vlasceanu has been named the MAWPC Rookie of the Week after helping Bucknell clinch the No. 1 seed for the MAWPC Championships for the fourth straight year in a 9-6 win at No. 16 Fordham.
Vlasceanu netted three times for the Bison in the victory, including the first two goals in the game to help Bucknell take an early 3-1 lead.
Vlasceanu is now up to 61 goals and 35 assists this season, ranking second on the team in both categories. The native of Bucharest, Romania has played and started every game this season for the Orange and Blue as a freshman, and has also chipped in 37 steals on the defensive end. Vlasceanu is one of only two Bison along with senior Rade Joksimovic to eclipse the 100-point plateau this season.
Vlasceanu and the No. 13 men's water polo squad will take on La Salle in the MAWPC opening round on Friday at 3 p.m.
