The seven selections from Bucknell are the highest among any team, with Brown University next on the list with four members.
A graduate of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Ill., before donning the Orange and Blue, Kapecki was a two-time All-America Honorable Mention selection, and four-time All-Eastern Championship selection. He finished his time in Lewisburg with 316 goals, 127 assists, and 443 points in leading the Bison to a 67-41 record over four years. Kapecki is one of only five players in Bucknell history to earn multiple All-America accolades.
In his freshman season, Kapecki, along with Hilk, helped Bucknell to a 25-9 record and a first-place finish at the Conference Championship as well as a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships. He was also a member of the swimming team for the 1986 season.
As a junior, Kapecki put together his best individual season when he totaled 110 goals and 63 assists en route to helping the Bison to a 13-11 record. His senior year, he scored 64 times and added 16 assists while fighting an injury much of the year. Kapecki still managed to earn Honorable Mention All-America honors, as well as earning All-Eastern Championship and All-MAWPC First Team recognition.
Kapecki makes an appearance in many categories in the Bucknell record books, where he ranks third all-time in goals (316) and fourth in points (443). Kapecki's 173 points in 1987 are the eighth-most in a single season in Bucknell history, and his 110 goals in that season are the sixth-most by a Bucknell player in one campaign. He was also captain of the Bucknell squad in both the 1987 and 1988 seasons.
Kapecki graduated from Bucknell in 1989 with a degree in business administration and management, and he now works as the President of FuelPop Marketing in Chicago. He has worked in many different roles in marketing in the Chicago area, and also served as the Director of Marketing Communications for AT&T for ten years.
Kapecki has also remained active in the sport of water polo, where he was a member of the New York Athletic club water polo team for 11 years. He helped lead the team to five National Championships, and still is around the sport as an announcer and an analyst for the Big Ten Network's coverage of water polo.
Outside of the pool, Kapecki remains active as a Community Event Coordinator for the Special Olympics and a Secretary for the Midwest Board of Directors for USA Water Polo.
