Davenport, a 2017 graduate and Bucknell's first NFL Draft pick since 1969, is projected to start at left tackle for the Houston Texans in their season-opening game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. Anderson, a 2018 graduate, was signed to the Chicago Bears' practice squad following preseason camp.
As a senior in 2016, Davenport was recognized as a First Team All-American by the Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, STATS and Walter Camp. He started all 44 of Bucknell's games at left tackle during his collegiate career, capturing four All-Patriot League citations.
Anderson joined Davenport and Rich Lemon (1993-96) as the only Bison to earn four All-Patriot League awards following the 2017 campaign. The Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, he was also recognized as a Second Team All-American by the Associated Press and Third Team All-American by STATS and Phil Steele. Over the course of his collegiate career, he started 43 games, recording 171 tackles (96 solo), 33.5 tackles for a loss, 15.5 sacks and four blocked kicks.Â
To date, 44 Bison have played in an NFL contest. The last was Davenport, who made his NFL debut during the Texans' 13-9 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 14, 2017.
