LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's Marisa Alemany has been named the Patriot League Softball Player of the Week after leading an outstanding offensive performance by the Bison in a three-game-sweep over Holy Cross.
Alemany hit .500 (4-for-8) in three games against Holy Cross, with a 1.125 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage. The sophomore combined for five runs, four RBIs, four hits, one triple and one home run.
The home run was the third of the season for Alemany. It was a three-run shot to the opposite field that gave the Bison a 6-0 lead in the fourth inning of game two.
Alemany's award is the second Player of the Week honor for the Bison this season, adding to one won by Meghan Kovac. Raeanne Geffert and Taylor Langtry have each been named Pitcher of the Week, while Taylor Wolfgang is a two-time Rookie of the Week.
Bucknell (12-18, 4-2 PL) will host Cornell for a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday at 3 p.m.
