LEWISBURG, Pa. --  Junior attacker Rade Joksimovic and junior center Logan Schofield each garnered All-American honors for their stellar play during the 2018 season as announced the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches on Monday afternoon. Â
Joksimovic was named to the second team after a junior campaign that saw the Novi Sad, Serbia native find the back of the cage 128 times, the fourth-most total in a single season in Bison history. Joksimovic's 208 points also are fourth best for a single season in Bucknell history and is 24 points higher than his previous best of 184 points set in 2016. Joksimovic also notched 80 steals on the defensive end; good for third in Bucknell history for a single season.
Joksimovic reached several career milestones during the 2018 season. His 208 points in 2018 helped move him into second on the all-time points list behind Scott Schulte with 533 in his career. He is also just the second Bison to reach the 500-point milestone. Joksimovic is also second in career goals with 388, ninth in career assists with 145, and needs to add just 12 steals to his current 242 takeaways to pass Jay Danforth for the most by a Bison player since 1996.  Â
The All-American honor for Joksimovic adds another accomplishment to his junior season in which he was named MAWPC Player of the Week five times and was tabbed as a MAWPC East First-Team Selection as well as earning Player of the Year honors. Â
This is Joksimovic's third time earning All-American Honors; he was a Third Team selection in 2016, and an Honorable Mention All-American in 2017. With his Second Team selection this season, Joksimovic joins Schulte as the only other multiple time All-American in Bucknell history. Schulte earned Second Team honors in 1979 and 1980.
Joksimovic was the only player on the three All-American teams from a non-California school.  Â
Schofield earns his first All-American honors with an Honorable Mention selection for his work at center in 2018. Schofield broke Jack Else's single-season record for ejections drawn with 135 in his junior campaign. He was also named to the First Team of the MAWPC East this season along with Joksimovic, and also garnered All-MAWPC Tournament honors in helping the Bison reach the championship game.Â
Schofield's 181 ejections drawn in his career are the fifth most by a Bison player since the year 2000. Schofield also scored 46 goals and had six assists. His 46 goals were the fourth most by a Bison player this season.
The two selections this season mark the fifth time in the last seven seasons that the Bison have had at least two players pick up All-American honors.Â
