LEWISBURG, Pa.—The No. 15 Bucknell University men's water polo team had three individuals honored by the CWPA on Thursday for MAWPC East All-Conference recognition.
Junior Rade Joksimovic, junior Logan Schofield, and senior Marko Djordjevic each earned All-MAWPC East honors.
Joksimovic was named the Most Valuable Player in the conference as well as being selected to the first team for the third consecutive year. Joksimovic posted 116 goals and 71 assists in leading the Bison to an 11-1 mark against MAWPC opposition. Joksimovic also added 69 steals and drew 24 ejections this season. The Novi Sad, Serbia native totaled 187 points in the regular season, the most points he has accumulated in one season in his career. Joksimovic also reached the 500-point mark in 2018, becoming only the second player in Bucknell history to reach the milestone.
Logan Schofield earns his first All-Conference recognition on the first team after a strong junior season in which he was a commanding presence in the center for the Orange and Blue while helping open up space for his teammates. Schofield drew 118 ejections this season, the second most by a Bison player since the year 2000. Schofield is 15 ejections drawn away from catching Jack Else's single-season record of 133 set in 2012. Schofield also contributed offensively, scoring 40 goals this season and adding six assists. Schofield had a career-high six goals in an 18-17 win at Johns Hopkins on Sept. 30.
Djordjevic tallied his first All-Conference selection as a second-team pick after an excellent senior campaign that saw him surpass 100 points in a single-season for the first time in his career. The Belgrade, Serbia native scored 57 goals and added 54 assists and started all 26 games for the Bison this season. Djordjevic also added 32 steals and passed the 100 career starts mark for Bucknell in his most recent match against Johns Hopkins. Djordjevic's 101 career starts rank in a tie for fifth for a Bison player since 2001.
Joksimovic, Schofield, and Djordjevic begin MAWPC Tournament play on Friday against La Salle at 3 p.m. on the campus of Fordham University.
