Lewis, Joksimovic Earn MAWPC Weekly Honors

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Rade Joksimovic was selected as the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season and Jack Lewis was tabbed as the MAWPC Rookie of the Week after leading the Bucknell men's water polo team to a 3-0 weekend against MAWPC competition at Kinney Natatorium on Oct. 6-7.
Joksimovic led the Bison attack, scoring a season-high 10 goals in a 22-9 win vs. La Salle while chipping in three assists and five steals. Joksimovic finished the weekend with 17 goals, seven assists, seven steals, and three-for-four on sprints as the Bison outscored their competition 53-30 and extended their home winning streak to 22 games.
Lewis earns his first MAWPC honors this week after accounting for five goals, ten assists, and 12 steals for the Bison this past weekend. Lewis picked up a season-high six steals against La Salle, and assisted Jared Stanley on what proved to be Bucknell's game-winning goal in a 13-12 win over George Washington.
The win over the Colonials avenged an earlier Bison loss to GW in Washington, D.C. earlier this season.
Joksimovic and Lewis contributed on over 73 percent of the Bison's goals over the weekend via goal or assist.
Bucknell travels to the Harvard Invitational in Cambridge, Mass. for four games on Oct. 13-14.
