Buckley Named Bison Athlete of the Week After Winning Patriot League Title

The Senior Earned Her Third Straight First All-Patriot League Honor

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior Colleen Buckley was named the Bison Athlete of the Week on Monday thanks to a dominant performance while winning the title at the Patriot League Women's Cross Country Championships on her home course Saturday.

Buckley took first out of 110 runners, earning her third-straight First Team All-Patriot League honor. She finished fourth as a sophomore and third as a junior. Buckley was nine seconds faster than the runner-up on Saturday.

The individual title by Buckley helped Bucknell win its fourth straight Patriot League team title. She was one of six Bison runners to earn All-Patriot League honors.

Ashley Blair and Margaret Thomson joined her on the First Team, while Payton Capes, Nora Bennett, and Jenna Farmer made the Second Team.

Buckley and the Bison now turn their attention to the Mid-Atlantic Regional race, which will be hosted by Penn State on Friday, Nov. 9.
