Buckley Named Patriot League Runner of the Week

The Senior Finished 26th Out of 289 Runners at the Penn State National Open

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's Colleen Buckley was named the Patriot League Runner of the Week on Tuesday thanks to a solid performance in a challenging field at the Penn State National Open on Saturday.

Buckley finished 26th out of 289 in a field that included runners from five nationally-ranked teams, two more that received votes in the national poll, and 13 teams from Power Five conferences. The senior completed the 6k course in 21:11.

Sixteen of the 25 runners that finished ahead of Buckley were from Power Five teams. She was the best runner from the three Patriot League teams at the meet, finishing 95 spots ahead of the next fastest league participant.

Bucknell will host three teams – Lafayette Lehigh, and Mansfield – for the Bison Tuneup on Friday. It is the team's final meet before hosting the Patriot League Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27.
