Bendzinski Named Bison Athlete of the Week

Lewisburg, Pa. - Christine Bendzinski was named the Bison Athlete of the Week Monday following a strong performance at the Penn State National Open.
Bendzinski broke her own school record in the mile at Penn State, recording an ECAC-qualifying time of 4:44.55, to shatter her previous mark of 4:45.36 set last year. Her time is currently the 22nd fastest in the nation this season.
Bendzinski was one of two Bison to post a top-10 mark over the weekend. Tiara Tardy made her way on to Bucknell's top-10 list in the 1,000-meter with a time of 2:51.31 and finished second.
The Bison will return to action on Friday-Saturday when they compete in the Scarlet and White Invitational in Boston, Massachusetts.
