Men's Tennis Opens Season with Losses to No. 3 North Carolina and Wofford

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Bucknell men's tennis team took on a difficult challenge as it opened the 2018 season in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on Saturday. The Bison dropped a pair of matches, falling to No. 3 North Carolina and Wofford.
The Bison opened the day with a 7-0 loss to the Tar Heels, who finished as the national runner-up last season. The Tar Heels went on to shut out Wofford later in the day.
Seniors Max Kane and Timber Erskine were competitive in their match at No. 2 doubles before falling to Mac Kiger and Simon Soendergaard, 6-3.
Bucknell dropped its second match of the day 6-0 to Wofford. Junior Max McDonald played a solid match in a three-set loss to Parks Schoen. He won the first set 7-5 before dropping the next two 6-1 and 10-7.
The Bison will compete at the NJIT Winter Invitational on Jan. 27-28.
