LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell rolled to a 7-0 win over visiting Lafayette in Patriot League men's tennis action Sunday at the Varsity Tennis Courts. The Bison improved to 9-15 overall, and more importantly upped their record to 3-2 in the conference.
Max Kane bumped all the way up to No. 1 singles and had the lone three-set win of the day, beating Lafayette's Blake Oslan 1-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Bryan Adams, one day after being honored for Senior Day, jumped up to court two and recorded a 7-5, 6-2 win over Mason Keel. Max McDonald was one spot behind him and turned in a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win.
Rounding out the Bison lineup in order were Ben Gerber, Colin Sacco, and Max Haase. All three players won in three sets.
The Bison swept the doubles matches, including 6-2 wins by Andrei Vitiuc and Gerber on court one and Adams and Sacco on court three. Kane and Haase teamed up for a 6-4 victory on court two.
“It was a great effort by the entire team today,” Bucknell head coach Bruce Myers said. “After a tough loss 24 hours earlier and missing Dan Wright and Max Palmer from the lineup, we came out and played well in front of the home crowd on a perfect day for tennis.”
Bucknell continues league play with a match at Colgate on Saturday at noon.
