About Bucknell
-- After dropping its Patriot League opener to Boston University last weekend, Bucknell will look to get back into the win column Saturday against Army West Point, which enters with a 4-5 overall record and 0-1 mark in the PL.
-- This will be the first-ever trip to West Point for the Bucknell women's lacrosse team. Last year was Army's first at the varsity level, and the Black Knights played in Lewisburg in their debut season.
-- In their first conference game of the season, the Bison took on Boston University. The Terriers jumped out to a 4-0 lead, and while the Bison fought back to cut down the deficit, the Terriers used a six-score streak later in the game to earn the 13-8 victory. It was the second consecutive loss for Bucknell after starting the season 5-1, its best start to a season since 1997.
-- Audrey Walsh and Maddy Molinari scored two goals each against Boston University, while Lucia Smircich led the team with three caused turnovers. Molinari also recorded seven draw controls to bring her season total to 45.
-- Head coach Randall Swope is currently tied with Barb Jordan for the program record for wins by a coach with 47.
-- Bucknell now has four players with 10 or more goals this season: Molinari (19), Walsh (14), Sarah Galzerano (12), and Eve Lukowski (10).
-- The Bison have shared the ball effectively this year, recording 58 assists on the 79 goals scored. Christina Manis has been a major factor in that regard, leading the team with 21 assists this season, which is the most in the Patriot League and tied for seventh-most in the nation. Her 80 career assists are a program record.
-- Both Manis and Molinari have entered the top-10 list for career points with 138 and 135 total points, respectively.
-- Annie Gilbertson is fifth in program history for caused turnovers with 69, while Smircich sits in seventh with 67 caused turnovers.
-- The Bison defense is tied for the second-fewest goals allowed in the Patriot League, while the Bison offense leads the conference with a .444 shooting percentage and 7.1 assists per game.
Scouting Army West Point
-- Army West Point enters the matchup on a four-game losing streak, including a 15-11 loss to Patriot League member Lafayette.
-- The Black Knights have scored 11 or more goals in seven of their nine games this season.
-- Manhattan has been a mutual opponent for both Bucknell and Army West Point. The Bison defeated the Jaspers 8-7 earlier this month, while the Black Knights earned an 11-6 victory.
-- Army West Point's top three scorers, Manuela Cortes (24 goals), Rachel Hornick (23 goals), and Amy Johnston (17 goals), have combined for 63.4% of the team's total offensive output.
Series History with Army West Point
-- Army West Point debuted as a Division I program in 2016. Bucknell defeated the Black Knights 19-9 at Graham Field in the only matchup in their series history.
-- In that contest, the Bison opened with nine straight goals to take a commanding lead. The Black Knights fought back, but Bucknell used a four-goal streak and a three-goal streak in the second half to earn the 10-goal win.
-- Molinari led the team with nine points off of four goals and five assists. Manis added a five-point game, and Jamie DeWitt made 12 saves in net.
