Geffert Named Patriot League Softball Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's Raeanne Geffert has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after going a perfect 3-0 in the circle during the Bison's spring break trip to Florida. The freshman earns the award one week after being selected as the league's Pitcher of the Week.
Geffert allowed 12 hits and five runs, all of which were earned, across 20 innings for a 1.75 ERA. Facing 73 batters, she walked two and struck out 17, including nine in the 7-2 win over St. Peter's. The freshman pitched two complete games.
In her first season at Bucknell, Geffert has spearheaded the Bison's pitching staff that has helped the team jump out to a 15-5 record before the start of conference play. She is 8-2 with a 2.62 ERA and has shown a command of the strike zone with 59 strikeouts and just 10 walks over 66.2 innings.
Bucknell is scheduled to open league play this weekend with three home games against Lafayette on Saturday and Sunday.
