Considine Scores Five Goals in 11-7 Win Over Whittier

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Marta Considine scored a game-high five goals to lead the Bucknell women's water polo team to an 11-7 win over Whittier Sunday at the Aztec Invitational.
Bucknell (9-9) opened play at the Aztec Invitational with a loss to No. 17 UC San Diego, but rebounded for a 10-6 victory over Chapman. The Bison remain unbeaten when scoring in double figures this season.
Five Bison scored in the victory over the Poets. Tegan Stanbach and Gigi Rojahn scored two goals each, while Shyla Lintz and Emily Konishi each recorded one score.
The Poets outscored the Bison 2-1 in the first period and led by a 4-3 margin at halftime.
Bucknell outscored Whittier 4-1 in the third quarter to take a 7-5 lead. Tied 7-7 in the final period, the Bison pulled away with three consecutive goals.
Haley Derrod started in cage, recording five saves in the victory.
The Bison wrap up play at the Aztec Invitational with a matchup with No. 16 San Diego State at 9 p.m.
