Teams Competing: Bucknell, Colgate, IUP, Loyola (Md.), Mount St. Mary's, Saint Francis (Pa.), Villanova
About the Bison
* Bucknell returns three seniors, four juniors, and three sophomores from a team that went 16-9 overall last season. The group will be joined by a pair of freshmen.
* The Bison won three singles titles and three doubles titles in four tournaments last year.
* Seniors Melissa Parks and Michele Urbinati will serve as team captains for the 2016-17 season.
* This weekend marks the first of four tournaments scheduled for the Bison this season.
* Jill Auteri, Emilie Bush, Lauren Fishbein, Danielle Gannon, Paige Leavy, Mishi Papich and Urbinati will compete for the Bison.
* Bucknell played all six participating teams during the spring last season. The Bison recorded wins over Saint Francis, Mount St. Mary's, Colgate, Loyola (Md.) and IUP. They lost to Villanova.
* At this tournament last season, Parks teamed with Maria Cioffi to win the Flight B doubles title.
About the Opponents
Colgate: The Raiders went 8-11 overall and 2-3 in the Patriot League last season. Their season ended in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament. Sarah Hyland was a Second Team All-Patriot League selection.
IUP: The Crimson Hawks went 22-5 and won the regional title for the 12th consecutive season. They went on to play in the NCAA Division II Championships.
Loyola (Md.): The Greyhounds were 14-8 overall and 2-3 in the Patriot League. They lost in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament.
Mount St. Mary's: The Mount went 4-18 and advanced to the NEC quarterfinals.
Saint Francis: The Red Flash went 7-15 and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NEC Tournament. Raksha Bode and Stephanie Miller were named to the NEC All-Rookie Team.
Villanova: The Wildcats were 12-11 overall and lost in the Big East quarterfinals.
Milestone/Record Watch
* Lisa Jouravleva ranks 21st all-time at Bucknell in singles wins (41-21) and 23rd in combined singles and doubles victories (69-45).
* Michele Urbinati ranks 17th in doubles wins (41-28) and 20th in combined victories (71-63).
