JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Bucknell men's track and field senior Grant Reynolds competed Friday on day two of the NCAA East Preliminary Meet at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium.
After qualifying for the NCAA East Preliminary Meet due to a medical scratch, Reynolds finished 33rd with a time of 14.33. The senior entered the meet with a seed time of 14.25, which he earned in a first-place finish at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships. The mark is also the second-fastest time in program history.
"Grant was very fortunate to get the call from the NCAA to make the meet and he definitely did not waste the opportunity," said head coach Kevin Donner. "He ran a fantastic race to finish well ahead of his seed and to conclude a great career."
Reynolds qualifying for the NCAA East Preliminary Meet caps off a terrific senior season. In addition to his title in the 110-meter hurdles, Reynolds also won the silver in the 400 hurdles, while helping the 4x100 relay squad score at the championship meet. The senior also earned All-East status in the 110m hurdles at the IC4A Championships, while being selected to the Academic All-Patriot League team for the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Bucknell concludes competition Saturday with three events. Kate Scott will compete in the 5,000m, while Joseph Breen participates in the shot put and Nicholas Lombardo in the high jump.
