LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's track and field team is set to compete at the three-day IC4A Outdoor Championships, which will be held at Princeton's Weaver Stadium beginning on Friday.
After winning the Patriot League title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior Ross Pirnie will be looking to improve upon his time on Friday. Will Bordash, Peter Murray and Luke Giugliano will each compete in the 5,000, while Andrew Kirna will run in the 10,000 to round out the Bison participants on Friday.
Bucknell will have a trio of throwers compete at the IC4A Championships, including school record holder Joseph Breen. He broke the school record in the shot put at last year's Patriot League Outdoor Championships with a toss of 56-3, and then broke his own school record at the 122nd Penn Relays with a heave of 56-5 ¾. Breen will also compete in the discus, while Olu Shoyoye will compete in the hammer and Pat Mulrooney in the javelin.
Nicholas Lombardo will represent Bucknell in the long jump and high jump events. Lombardo is the Patriot League Outdoor champion in the long jump, while holding the school record in the high jump (6-11).
Matthew Fay will look to qualify for the NCAA East Regional in the pole vault on Saturday. His personal-best of 16-2 ¾ ranks second in Bucknell history and currently slots him in the top-100 of the region.
On the track, Grant Reynolds will look to improve upon his time in the 110 and 400 high hurdles events. Reynolds earned All-Patriot League honors in each race, taking gold in the 110HH while earning the silver medal in the 400 HH.
Also competing in individual races this weekend are Dan Gevirtz (100, 200), Rocco Ordille (100), Griffin Robertson (400), Wade Heidel (400), William Melchionni (400) and Scott Gulizio (800).
