Women's Tennis to Host Bloomsburg and IUP on Tuesday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's tennis team closes the regular season with a pair of matches at the Bucknell Tennis Courts on Tuesday. The Bison will have two separate lineups competing as they take on Bloomsburg and IUP, with both matches being scheduled for 4 p.m.
The Bison are coming off a weekend in which they dropped matches to two tough opponents in Navy and Towson. Despite the losses, they enter the final day of the regular season with a solid overall record of 13-8.
Bucknell had a pair of singles victories in the loss at Towson. Sophomore Lisa Jouravleva won at No. 2 to improve to 11-5 during the spring, while senior Stephanie Pino won at No. 6 to up her record to 9-4.
Bloomsburg is 4-6 overall, including a 4-2 record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). The Huskies have won back-to-back matches over Kutztown and Cheyney.
Bucknell leads 32-8 in the all-time series with Bloomsburg. The teams last played in 2013 when the Bison won with a 5-0 shutout. Maria Cioffi and Pino had singles wins.
IUP, which is ranked 36th in the nation in Division II, comes to Lewisburg with a record of 17-2, including a 4-1 mark in the PSAC. The Crimson Hawks are coming off back-to-back wins over Charleston and West Virginia State.
Bucknell and IUP met for the first time last season. The Crimson Hawks were 8-1 winners on their home courts.
The Bison will open play in the Patriot League Tournament with a quarterfinal match in Annapolis, Maryland on Friday. The opponent and time of the match has yet to be determined.
