LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell softball continues to rack up weekly awards from the Patriot League, with Amanda Fazio receiving the latest honor. The senior was named the Corvias Pitcher of the Week for the second time in three weeks.
Fazio pitched in all four games while leading Bucknell to a 2-2 record at Delaware's Blue Hen Blast. She upped her already impressive strikeout/walk numbers, striking out 15 batters while issuing zero free passes. Her performance at the tournament helped her become Bucknell's career strikeout leader with 366.
Fazio won both of the games she started at Delaware and didn't allow an earned run in either contest. She pitched all five innings of an 11-1 win over the Blue Hens on Saturday, and then went the distance in a 6-0 win over Delaware State on Sunday. She struck out seven batters in both games.
Bucknell has won three straight Pitcher of the Week awards. Fazio won it the opening week, while Cindy Cherness nabbed the honor after pitching her first career no-hitter the following week.
The Bison are 8-6 overall with wins in six of their past eight games. They will play 10 games during their spring break trip to Kissimmee, Florida on March 13-18.
