Baseball Set for Four-Game Home Weekend Series vs. Yale

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell baseball team returns to Depew Field this weekend for its second of three straight weekends at home. The Bison will host Yale in doubleheaders both Saturday and Sunday at noon. Sunday's twinbill will have an audio broadcast on 90.5 WVBU FM and BucknellBison.com.

Bucknell and Yale are tied 3-3 in their all-time series that began in 1910. The teams last met in Florida in 2014 with the Bulldogs posting a 13-5 victory. Yale has won the last two meetings with the Bison's last victory coming in 2010.

Bucknell is 7-13 on the year and in the midst of playing 12 of 14 games at home. The Bison are coming off a 14-2 loss at Binghamton on Tuesday in which Brett Smith extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

Yale is 2-11-1 on the season and is coming off an 8-6 victory at Quinnipiac on Wednesday. The Bulldogs lost two of three games last weekend against Patriot League foe Holy Cross.

Yale is the fourth Ivy League team Bucknell has played this season. The Bison lost to Brown at the USA Baseball-Irish Classic, fell to Dartmouth in Florida and then Cornell took three of four from the Bison last weekend.

Following this weekend's series, Bucknell will have just one more game before the start of Patriot League play. The Bison will play at Saint Joseph's on Wednesday (March 30) before hosting Lehigh April 2-3 to open the five-weekend Patriot League schedule.
