LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Chris Devlin had multiple record-setting swims on his way to winning the Swimmer of the Meet award at the Patriot League Championships last weekend. On Monday, he added the honor of 5th Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week.
Devlin became Bucknell's first Swimmer of the Meet since 1993 after winning a pair of individual events and finishing in the top five of another, as well as three relays. His two wins – the 200 back and 400 IM – came with meet and school record times.
In all, Devlin finished with school records in three individual events and three relays. He had NCAA “B” cut times in the 200 back, 400 IM and 200 IM. In addition to those events, he set the school record in the 100 back, while leading off the record-setting 400 medley relay. He was also a part of record-setting teams in the 400 free relay and 800 free relay.
In just two seasons, Devlin has six top-five finishes in individual events at the Patriot League Championships.
The Bison will continue their championship season with the ECAC meet. The event runs from Friday to Sunday at Navy's Lejeune Hall.
