Joksimovic Named Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Rookie of the Week for 4th Time This Season

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell freshman Rade Joksimovic (Novi sad, Serbia/Gimnazija Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj) earned his fourth Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Rookie of the Week Award, it was announced Tuesday. The Bison first-year player totaled 13 goals, three assists, four steals and one ejection drawn in a 1-1 week for Bucknell.
Joksimovic now has 10 weekly awards this season. He has been named conference Rookie of the Week four times, conference Player of the Week three times, conference Defensive Player of the Week once and Bison Athlete of the Week twice.
Joksimovic opened the weekend with six goals and three steals in a narrow 10-9 loss to No. 16 George Washington. He followed with seven goals, three assists, one steal and one ejection drawn in a 14-10 victory over Navy on Saturday evening.
Joksimovic has now scored at least one goal in all 14 games this season and has nine games with at least five goals. He led the team in goals against both George Washington and Navy.
On the season, Joksimovic has totaled 70 goals, 88 points, 41 steals and nine sprints won, all team highs.
Bucknell (12-2, 6-1 MAWPC) is on the road at the Harvard Invitational this weekend. The Bison will face Princeton, Harvard and Iona.
