LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's cross country team has competed in two events this season, and now Kate Scott has earned weekly honors from the Patriot League after both races. The junior was named the M-F Athletic Female Runner of the Week for the second time this season by the league on Monday.
Scott came in first place out of 217 runners at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational with a time of 14:07 in the 4K race. She also helped the Bison take first place overall out of 29 teams in the race. It was the Bison's sixth win in eight races dating back to last season.
Scott's first Runner of the Week award this season came after she led Bucknell to a title at Colgate's Harry Lang Invitational. She finished third in the race, helping the Bison finish first in an eight-team field that included Albany and No. 17 Syracuse, as well as fellow Patriot League teams Navy and Colgate.
The Bison have two events scheduled this weekend. One group of runners will compete at Lehigh's Paul Short Run on Friday, while another group will run at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday.
