Campbell Named 5th Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Karen Campbell has been named the season's first 5th Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week after leading the Bucknell volleyball team to a 2-1 record at Central Connecticut State's Blue Devil Classic this past weekend.
Campbell and teammate Meghan Wentzel were selected to the All-Tournament Team after guiding the Bison to 3-0 wins over NJIT and Fairfield. They were defeated 3-1 in a tightly-contested match with the host Blue Devils.
It was a true team effort for the Bison with the stats spread out among numerous players, but Campbell led the way, especially with her efficiency. She tallied 31 kills (3.1/set) with a .371 hitting percentage. She was especially productive in the win over NJIT, recording 11 kills and a .625 hitting percentage. The senior's production wasn't just limited to the offensive attack. She also paced the team with nine kills, including two solo and seven block assists.
The Bison return to action this weekend at Sacred Heart's Hampton inn Shelton Invitational, where they will play a match against Brown on Friday and against Hartford on Saturday.
