LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell tied with Lafayette for the most baseball players on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll with 20 selections, the league office announced this week. A total of 73 players were honored and nearly 30 percent of them were Bison.
Headlining the list was senior first baseman Rob Krentzman, who posed a perfect 4.0 grade-point average last semester. He was one of three baseball players in the Patriot League with a 4.0 or higher GPA.
Joe Ogren and Tucker Rekucki were two more Bison honorees. Both were also members of the Academic All-Patriot League Baseball Team, which was announced last month.
Overall, Bucknell's baseball squad posted a 3.23 grade-point average during the spring semester.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
Bucknell baseball has at least tied for the league lead in Academic Honor Roll selections every year since at least 2000.
