LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell men's lacrosse midfielder David Dickson has been selected to participate in the USILA/Lax World North-South Senior All-Star Game, which will take place at Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania on Friday. The Division I/II All-Star Game will be held at 5:30 p.m., following the Division III game at 3 p.m. The 74th North-South game will be part of the NCAA Final Four weekend in the Philadelphia area.
Dickson will play for the South team, which will be coached by Brian Novotny of Seton Hill. Dickson is one of three Patriot League players in the game, as he will be joined on the South squad by Loyola defenseman Pat Frazier and Lehigh goalie Matt Poillon.
A four-year starter for the Bison, Dickson recently wrapped up his career with 132 assists in 52 games. That total is the third-highest in Bucknell and Patriot League history, and it is the second-highest figure among all active Division I players.
Dickson was a Third Team All-America selection in 2013 after smashing the school and league records with 48 assists while leading Bucknell to a 12-4 season and a berth in the Patriot League championship game. In each of the last two seasons, he was a nominee for the Tewaaraton Trophy, given to the national player of the year.
This season Dickson totaled a team-high 45 points on 15 goals and 30 assists, and he became a rare four-time all-conference selection with a first-team citation. He is now one of 11 players in Patriot League history and just one of three from Bucknell to achieve that honor.
A seventh-round draft pick of the MLL's Denver Outlaws, Dickson graduated this past Sunday with a double major in economics and political science.
This is the eighth year in a row that Bucknell has had at least one player selected for the North-South All-Star Game. Dickson becomes the 27th Bison to be picked for the game.
