PRINCETON, N.J. – Christian Lupica earned All-East honors in the 110-meter hurdles Sunday as the Bucknell men's track and field team concluded competition at the IC4A Championships. The three-day event was held at Princeton's Weaver Stadium.
Lupica finished second in the hurdles event for the second straight season, crossing the line in 13.96 seconds. Hampton's Trey Holloway won the event in 13.79 seconds.
The Bison added two program top-10 marks on the day, including one by Kevin Tapper. The senior just missed All-East honors with a ninth-place finish in the triple jump. His leap of 49-3 ½ is the fourth best all-time at Bucknell and is Tapper's personal record by nearly nine inches.
Jack Fellows was 16th in the hammer throw with a toss of 182-5. That rank ninth on the Bison's all-time list. Joseph Breen was 15th in the shot put.
"Lupica has been consistent all season and a runner-up finish is very good," said Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner. "He is ready for the NCAA meet.. Tapper had a nice PR in the triple jump and just missed scoring. He had a great career and will be missed. Breen is young and will eventually learn how to score in these bigger meets."
Next up for Bucknell is the NCAA East Regional Meet, which will be held in Jacksonville, Florida on May 28-30.
