LEWISBURG, Pa. – Christian Lupica has been named the M-F Athletic Patriot League Male Track Athlete of the Week. The senior earns the award for the fourth time during his career.
Lupica won the 110-meter hurdles at the Bucknell Team Challenge with an IC4A qualifying time of 13.87, setting a Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium record in the race. It is the fastest time in the Patriot League this season by more than half a second, and places him 10th in the event in the NCAA East Region.
Lupica will face some of the best competition in the country when he competes in the 110-meter hurdles at the Penn Relays this weekend. He will be joined by a handful of other Bucknell athletes, while others will compete at the Bloomsburg Invitational on Saturday.
The Bison are coming off a great showing at the Bucknell Team Challenge. They dominated the seven-team event, winning with 226 points. Duquesne was the runner-up with 125 points.
