LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's tennis team is set for five matches over a four-day span on its upcoming trip to Orlando, Florida. The Bison open the trip with a match against Hampton on Monday, and are scheduled for matches with Northern Illinois, Evansville, St. Cloud State and James Madison during the week.
Below are a few notes as the team prepares for the busy schedule:
- The Bison have yet to field their full starting lineup this spring, suffering through sickness and injuries in the first five matches.
- The Bison enter at 0-6, but hope to have numerous players back healthy for the trip south.
- Senior Alyssa McAndrew stepped into the starting lineup last match and notched a win at No. 6 singles against Saint Bonaventure.
- Freshman Lisa Jouravleva is 4-2 in singles play, including a win at No. 1 against Niagara.
- Junior Maria Cioffi ranks 11th in team history in singles wins, eighth in doubles victories, and 10th in combined wins.
- The Bison are coming off a season in which they went 7-8 overall and 3-2 in the Patriot League last year.
- For the majority of the matches this spring, the Bison's starters in singles have not featured a senior, with the majority of the lineup made up of underclassmen.
