LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bucknell men's basketball team has won five straight and 10 of its last 12 games, and the Bison now hold a two-game lead atop the Patriot League standings with two games remaining in the regular season. Bucknell has clinched at least a share of the Patriot League regular-season title and can secure the No. 1 seed for the postseason tournament with one more victory or one Colgate loss this week.
The Bison are gunning for their fourth regular-season title in the last five years, but they have two tough road games on tap. They play third-place Lehigh on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Stabler Arena, and then Bucknell visits defending-champion on American on Saturday at noon.
Here are some additional items of note heading into the final week of the regular season:
- Bucknell will begin selling tickets to the March 5 Patriot League Tournament quarterfinal home game on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. via online, phone (570-577-1000), and walk-up sales. All ticket orders will be available for pick-up starting Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. at the Weis Center Box Office.
- On Saturday in Washington, D.C., the Bison men's and women's teams will play a doubleheader at Bender Arena, with the men starting at noon and the women at 4 p.m. With possible playoff seeding at stake, both teams need your support, and the Bison Club will be sponsoring a fan bus to make it easy to travel to and from Bender Arena. In between games, join Bucknell Fans at a reception at Chef Geoff's. The bus will depart from the Langone Athletics & Recreation Center at 8 a.m. and return home immediately following the women's game. Fans can purchase the bus/game package for $40 (includes bus and both game tickets), or the bus/game/reception package for $52 (all previous plus reception between games). Contact Todd Newcomb before Wednesday to reserve your seats now: tnewcomb@bucknell.edu or 570-577-1771.
- This Thursday (Feb. 26) will be the final Backcourt Club Luncheon of the season. Coach Dave Paulsen and select members of the team will be in attendance to talk about recent games and look ahead to Saturday's regular-season finale at American. The luncheon is held at La Primavera Restaurant on Rt. 45 in Lewisburg, and the $10 admission includes a buffet lunch.
