LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's rowing team will hold its first competition of the fall season on Sunday, Oct. 4, when it hosts Drexel and fellow Patriot League member Lehigh on the Susquehanna River. Start time for the regatta is 11 a.m. This is the third straight year these three teams have competed in this early October event.
Varsity and novice crews from all three schools will be competing. All crews will start the race from staggered places with less experienced crews towards the front followed by more experienced racers. This starting plan should allow the boats to all approach the finish line around the same time, making for an exciting finish.
The race will take place near Bucknell's boathouse at the intersection of Routes 11 and 15 in Shamokin Dam, just a few miles south of the Bucknell campus. Parking is available in the gravel lot above the boathouse and at the former Tedd's Landing restaurant across the street.
This is Bucknell's first competition since last May's Patriot League Championships.
