Sharkey Earns Third Patriot League Cross Country Rookie of the Week Award

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Freshman cross country runner Brennan Sharkey has been named the Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. She is now tied with three other runners for the most Rookie of the Week awards in conference history.
Sharkey placed 39h out of 85 runners at the Panorama Farms Invitational, hosted by the University of Virginia. She placed in the top half of a strong field that included two nationally-ranked teams and seven teams ranked in their respective regions. She finished with the eighth-best time among freshmen at the event.
Including the three won by Sharkey, the Bison women have earned four Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors this season. The other recipient was Christine Bendzinski following her performance at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational.
Bucknell will travel to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Saturday for the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.
