BEDMINSTER, N.J. -- On a day when scores were high in cold, windy conditions at Trump National GC, the Bucknell women's golf team opened with a 355 team score at Seton Hall's Pirate Invitational. Bridget Wilcox led the way with an 87 for the Bison, who are in 16th place.
Lauren Bernard and Kasha Scott both posted 88s, Emily Timmons shot 92 and Meghan Garanich 93 for Bucknell.
The best team score in the field was a 320 compiled by Princeton. Ivy League mates Columbia (322), Penn (324) and Yale (326) round out the top four, followed by the host Pirates in fifth at 328.
Kelly Shon of Princeton carded a 74 to take a one-stroke lead over Penn's Marissa Kay and St. John's Anna Kim.
The second and final round will begin Sunday morning.
