Michael McGowan Named Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior Michael McGowan has been named the Bison Athlete of the Week following his runner-up finish at the Patriot League Championships on Saturday at Lehigh. He becomes the second men's cross country runner to earn the award in the past three weeks.
McGowan and Andrew Garcia-Garrison, the Bison Athlete of the Week two weeks ago, finished second and third, respectively, to lead Bucknell to a second-place finish in the conference's championship meet. Both runners earned First Team All-Patriot League status for their performance.
The second-place finish was the program's best since it finished second in the 2001 meet. The Bison also received solid showings from John Dugan, who earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors, Will Bordash, who brought home the conference Rookie of the Year award, and Luke Giugliano.
The Bison will have this weekend off as they prepare to compete in the Mid-Atlantic Regional at Penn State on Friday, Nov. 14.
