Wrestling Travels to Annapolis for Saturday's Navy Classic

LEWISBURG, Pa. – A number of Bison wrestlers have competed in tournaments unattached already this fall, but this Saturday will feature Bucknell's first full-team tournament of the season. As many as 19 Bison are expected to be in action at Saturday's Navy Classic at Wesley Brown Field House.

This is the ninth consecutive season Bucknell has made the journey to the Navy Classic. Wrestling begins at 10 a.m. with the finals slated for 5 p.m. The Bison will be joined by wrestlers from Brown, Chattanooga, The Citadel, Cleveland State, George Mason, Kent State, Navy, North Carolina, Ohio, Princeton, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Bucknell had four placewinners at last year's Navy Classic and finished eighth of 14 teams. Bison placewinners included Paul Petrov (5th at 125), Alex Pellicciotti (6th at 149), Tyler Lyster (5th at 197) and Joe Stolfi (3rd at 285).

Bucknell (0-1) enters the Navy Classic with Petrov (No. 19 at 125) and Stolfi (No. 18 at 295) showing up in the national rankings. Both were NCAA qualifiers last March.

The Bison will return to action after the Navy Classic on Dec. 5-6 when they wrestle at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada.
