Busy Sports Day at Bucknell on Saturday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Saturday's home schedule for Bison Athletics is shaping up as a great day to be a spectator. Five Bucknell teams will host conference opponents in a slate that features home events at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and two at 7 p.m.
Three of the events will take place in the shadow of Holmes Stadium as the field hockey, women's soccer and men's soccer squads will all be in action. All three of those games will be broadcast live on Bison Vision on the Patriot League Network. The volleyball (Davis Gym) and men's water polo (Kinney Natatorium) teams will also be in action on the east side of Route 15.
The day opens with field hockey (5-2, 1-0 PL) hosting Boston University (4-4, 1-0 PL) at Graham Field at 11 a.m. in a matchup of two of the final three remaining undefeated teams in the Patriot League. | Complete Preview
The women's soccer squad (6-5-2, 1-1-1 PL) is up next at 2 p.m. with a conference contest against American (3-9-0, 0-3-0). The Bison are undefeated in their last three matches and are coming off a key road win at Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday. | Complete Preview
After spending the majority of the day outside, fans can then move inside for a 5 p.m. volleyball (2-10, 1-3 PL) match against Lafayette (4-12, 1-3 PL). Bucknell holds a 36-23 advantage in the all-time series with the Leopards and it will be one of just three home matches for the Bison in October. | Complete Preview
The day wraps up with two events at 7 p.m. as men's soccer (5-5-0, 1-0-0 PL) hosts Lehigh (5-3-0, 1-0-0) at Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium and men's water polo (5-6, 3-3 CWPA) welcomes No. 19 Navy (10-7, 1-1 CWPA) to Kinney Natatorium. | Complete Men's Soccer Preview | Complete Men's Water Polo Preview
Sunday's schedule features a number of additional home Bison events as women's rowing takes on Drexel and Lehigh on the Susquehanna River near Shamokin Dam at 10 a.m., the field hockey team will also face Drexel at 1 p.m. at Graham Field to wrap up a four-game homestand and the men's and women's swimming and diving teams open their 2014-15 campaigns with a 1 p.m. unscored meet against UMBC.
