Women's Golf Finishes 12th at Rocket Classic

PORT CLINTON, Ohio -- The Bucknell women's golf battled severe windy conditions over the final 18 holes of the Rocket Classic on Tuesday and finished up in 12th place after a round of 351.
With sustained double-digit winds gusting to over 20 mph, Meghan Garanich posted Bucknell's low round of the day with an 84. She birdied holes 14 and 18 en route to a 39 on the back nine. Emily Larson followed with an 87, Nicole Mischler shot 88, and Jen Lee and Callie Nelson both shot 92. Larson's 252 total for 54 holes was the best on the team.
Emily Timmons played as an individual and made six straight pars at one point en route to an 87.
Host Toledo (903) rolled to a 12-shot victory over Western Michigan (915). Toledo's Sathika Ruenreong defeated WMU's Kaitlyn Watkins in a three-hole playoff to claim medalist honors. Watkins forced the playoff with a terriric 1-under 71, which was one of only 14 sub-80 rounds in the entire field.
The Bison will be back in action Oct. 20-21 at the Dayton Fall Invitational at NCR Country Club.
