LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's rowing team will take part in the Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River Friday and Saturday. The Dad Vail Regatta, which is being held for the 75th time this weekend, is the largest collegiate regatta in the nation.
The Bison won last year's Dad Vail team points trophy for the first time in program history. Bucknell's lightweight eight captured its third gold medal in four years, while the varsity eight and second varsity eight both posted runner-up finishes.
In addition to following along with Bucknell's performance at this year's Dad Vail Regatta, Bison fans will have the opportunity to watch a news piece on the team Friday evening on Fox 56 WOLF TV out of the Scranton area. The piece will air Friday, May 10, during the station's 11 p.m. Sports Show. Fans will have the opportunity to watch the segment online starting next Tuesday, May 14, by visiting www.myfoxnepa.com and clicking on “Fox 56 Sports Show” under the “Local Shows” tab.
Following this weekend's Dad Vail Regatta, Bucknell will go for its eighth consecutive Patriot League title. This year's Patriot League Championship is next Friday, May 17, on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. The Bison were picked to finish first in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
