LEWISBURG, Pa. - After opening Patriot League play at Holy Cross this past weekend, the Bucknell baseball team will return home for a non-league game Wednesday against Saint Joseph's. The contest was originally scheduled for March 19, but winter weather forced the postponement. First pitch will be 3:30 p.m. at Depew Field.
Bucknell is 6-20 on the year and 1-3 in Patriot League play. Wednesday's contest will mark the fourth home game of the season for the Bison, who are 1-2 at Depew Field. It is Bucknell's only home outing in a 14-game stretch. The Bison will not return to Depew Field until April 16 vs. Towson.
Bucknell is hitting .227 as a team and owns a 5.06 team ERA.
Saint Joseph's is currently 12-14 overall and 4-2 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. The Hawks will host Patriot League foe Lehigh on Tuesday afternoon. Saint Joseph's is 10-4 in its last 14 games.
The Hawks are hitting .255 and have a 3.92 ERA this season.
Bucknell and Saint Joseph's are facing each other for the second straight season after not playing for nearly 50 years. Bucknell will return to Patriot League play this weekend when it takes on Navy in a four-game series in Annapolis, Md. The Mids are tied for first place in the Patriot League after taking three of four games vs. Army.
