Six Bucknell Men's Water Polo Players Earn ACWPC All-Academic Awards

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Six Bucknell men's water polo players were honored with All-Academic Awards by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) earlier this week. As a team, Bucknell's cumulative grade-point average was just under 3.0, ranking it among the nation's leaders.
Student-athletes were recognized in three levels: 3.20 to 3.40 GPA (Excellent), 3.41 to 3.70 GPA (Superior) and 3.71 to 4.0 (Outstanding). Bucknell had one player recognized in the Outstanding category, two in the Superior list and three more in the Excellent group.
Senior goalie Matt Napleton was listed in the Outstanding category for a third straight year, while Alex Nowlin and Ken Wattana landed on the Superior list for a second consecutive year. Max Wilder, Stephen Norton and Julian Colina were part of the Excellent group.
Overall, 221 student-athletes were recognized by the ACWPC with GPAs of at least 3.2.
Bucknell finished the 2012 season with a 17-14 record and advanced to the title game of the Eastern Championship for the first time since 1993 and won its first-ever Southern Championships crown.
