About the Game
Bucknell will play a non-league game in its season finale for the second consecutive year as it travels to VMI this Saturday. It will be just the second matchup between the two teams who first faced each other in 1978. The Bison, who rank in the top 20 nationally in rushing defense, total defense and scoring defense, will look to end their season on a high note as they aim for their second above-.500 record in the last three years. VMI is coming off a 31-10 loss to The Citadel, but one week earlier snapped a seven-game losing streak with a win over Gardner-Webb. The Keydets, who were picked tied for fifth in the Big South Preseason Poll, pile up nearly three times more passing yards than rushing yards each game.
About VMI
• VMI has not finished a season with a .500 record since 2003.
• VMI has used three different quarterbacks this season, but Eric Kordenbrock (137-239 for 1,619 yards) and A.J. Augustine (74-128 for 905 yards) have received the majority of the snaps. Augustine has played in 10 games and has seen the majority of the playing time in recent weeks.
• Derrick Ziglar has carried the ball more than 140 times for 764 yards. Only two other Keydets have surpassed 100 yards on the ground this fall.
• Eight different VMI players have intercepted at least one pass this season.
