LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's cross country dominated in the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selections with a total of 25 student-athletes, the league announced on Wednesday. The Bison had twice as many honorees as any other school and were led six student-athletes with perfect grade-point averages of 4.0 in the fall semester. Included on that list of standouts was Caroline Tolli (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport), who was also an Academic All-Patriot League Team honoree last October.
With 25 selections, Bucknell more than doubled the next Patriot League in terms of total honorees. Navy was second with 12 selections and Lehigh had 11 to round out the top three. Bucknell has now paced the league in number of honorees for more than 10 consecutive years.
The Patriot League recognized a total of 75 women's cross country student-athletes for their academic success during the fall semester, and 16 of them posted a 4.00 GPA or better.
Joining Tolli on the list of 4.0 GPAs were freshmen Nora Adams (Boalsburg, Pa./State College Area) and Deanna Godby (Cleveland, Ohio/Mayfield), sophomores Alison Dillon (McKean, Pa./General McLane) and Kate VanNess (Alexandria, Ohio/Granville) and junior Emily Waksmunski (Carrolltown, Pa./Bishop Carroll). Tolli and Godby were also among the student-athletes selected to both the Academic All-Patriot League Team and an All-Patriot League team for their performance at the championship last October. Tolli was a First Team honoree, while Godby was named to the second.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must achieve a 3.2 grade-point average in the fall semester.
