Bucknell Volleyball's Edoho, Campbell Honored for Early-Season Play

LEWISBURG, Pa. –One week of play is in the books and already Bucknell volleyball has claimed two awards. Kebah Edoho (Odenton, Md./Arundel) was named the Bison Athlete of the Week on Monday and Karen Campbell (Chesapeake, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) was voted to the All-Tournament Team on Sunday as the Bison went 2-2 at the La Salle Invitational last weekend.
Edoho finished her season-opening weekend with team highs in kills (32), attack percentage (.299) and blocks (13) through four matches. In addition to leading the Bison outright in blocks in Bucknell's four-set wins over La Salle and Manhattan, the senior also posted the team's best kills total against Niagara with 12. Edoho's performance against the Purple Eagles included a .478 attack percentage as well.
Campbell made a splash in her Bucknell debut, finishing with 21 kills and hitting .232 for the weekend. The freshman registered 12 kills to lead the team offensively against Manhattan, a match that also saw Edoho and Kristen Titley (Coral Gables, Fla./Palmer Trinity School) reach double-figure kills with 10 apiece. Opposite La Salle, Campbell also recorded four blocks and served two aces to along with her five kills.
At the end of the weekend, Campbell was fourth on the team in kills (1.50/set) and second in blocks (0.64/set) behind only Edoho.
The awards are the first of each player's career. Edoho is the first volleyball player to earn the title of Bison Athlete of the Week since Rachel Rodriguez on Oct. 10, 2010.
Bucknell opened its 2012 season with back-to-back wins against La Salle and Manhattan before falling to Niagara and Loyola (Ill.) at last weekend's La Salle Invitational. Tournament action continues Aug. 31 at the Robert Morris/Duquesne Invitational. The Bison and Robert Morris will square off on Friday at 4 p.m. with play resuming Saturday against Loyola (Md.) (3 p.m.) and Duquesne (7 p.m.).
