LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell football team's first practice of the 2012 season is just over one week away. The Bison open preseason practice next Tuesday, Aug. 7, as they prepare for their 127th season. Bucknell will have 15 official practices before the first day of classes on Aug. 22. Scrimmages are scheduled for Aug. 16 and Aug. 19.
The Bison open their 2012 campaign Sept. 8 at Marist. Bucknell will play five home games, starting with the Sept. 22 Family Weekend contest against Lafayette that will air live on CBS Sports Network. The Bison will also play at home against Cornell (Sept. 29), Colgate (Oct. 27), Fordham (Nov. 3) and Bryant (Nov. 17).
Bucknell is coming off a 6-5 season, a program record-tying five-win improvement from the previous year. The Bison led the nation in turnover margin and were third nationally in rushing defense.
