LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell football team will appear on national television a second time this fall, it was announced this week. The Bison's Oct. 13 contest at Harvard will air live on CBS Sports Network. It was previously announced that Bucknell's Sept. 22 home opener against Lafayette will air on CBS Sports Network and kick off at noon.
The Bison-Crimson game in Cambridge, Mass., will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will be the middle contest of a three-game road trip for Bucknell. The Bison and Harvard met for the first time since 1997 last fall. The Crimson lead the all-time series 5-3-1, but the two teams have split their last four meetings dating back to 1994.
Harvard finished the 2011 campaign with a 9-1 record and was the Ivy League champion for the 14th time with a 7-0 conference mark.
Bucknell last played a game that aired on CBS Sports Network in 2010 when it hosted Cornell. Brandon Wesley completed 25 of 45 passes for a career-high 267 yards that afternoon, but the Bison lost to the Big Red by a 21-12 score in front of a Family Weekend crowd of nearly 8,000.
Bucknell will open the 2012 campaign with two straight road games - Sept. 8 at Marist and Sept. 15 at Delaware. The Bison will have five total home contests. In addition to the Lafayette game, Bucknell will host Cornell (Sept. 29), Colgate (Oct. 27), Fordham (Nov. 3) and Bryant (Nov. 17).
