Bucknell Track & Field Announces Recruits for Class of 2016

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell cross country and track and field will welcome nearly four dozen incoming freshmen for the 2012-13 seasons, head coach Kevin Donner announced on Friday. The newest Bison come from 12 different states and bring with them several sectional championships and state meet appearances from their interscholastic experience.
"It was a very solid recruiting year in which we were able to strengthen a few of our areas," said Donner of the 17 men and 23 women to join Bucknell in the fall. "I am confident a few of these athletes will contribute to our success right away while many others will contribute in later years. The transition to the college academic intensity and high level NCAA athletics is always a challenge for incoming freshmen."
The future rookies will join such veterans as Leonard Joseph (Whitesboro, N.Y./Clinton), who will be competing at the NCAA Championships next week. The junior will compete in the hammer throw at 3 p.m. Eastern on Friday, June 8. He is the second Bison in as many years to qualify for the National Championships.
