Bucknell Women's Water Polo Welcomes Six Newcomers in 2013

LEWISBURG, Pa. - There is a certain familiarity to the Bucknell women's water polo recruiting class, which was announced Thursday by second-year Bison head coach John McBride. Two siblings of former or current Bison men's water polo players make up one-third of the talented six-person class that also features three additional players from California and one from Nevada.
"Our recruiting class is very strong," commented McBride, who led the Bison to 15 wins this past spring. "With this class we are filling some roles that the team needs or roles that are being vacated by the graduating senior class. These incoming freshmen will make an immediate impact on our offense and will help to deepen our roster."
Recruits Emily Nowlin and Hannah Sunday have brothers that have been members of the Bison men's water polo squad. Sunday's brother, Josh, is a 2008 graduate of Bucknell who was a member of the men's water polo and swimming teams during his days in Lewisburg. Nowlin's brother, Alex, led the Bison in scoring last fall and will be a junior on McBride's men's team in the fall of 2012.
The incoming six-person class will help to fortify a Bucknell program that will lose five seniors to graduation.
