LEWISBURG, Pa. - The winter edition of Bison Magazine, a feature-heavy video piece on Bison Vision, is now available for viewing. Included in the second of three shows scheduled to be produced in 2011-12 are features on Dirk Sojka's Slam Dunk with Bison Basketball, a special men's lacrosse preseason training program and the new women's rowing erg room and the program's middle school erg clinics.
The approximately 11-minute Bison Magazine video piece is available to be viewed free of charge by clicking on the link at the top of this release, the video screen at the bottom of this release, the front page of BucknellBison.com, or through the Bison Vision All-Access player.
The first segment focuses on Dirk Sojka's Slam Dunk with Bison Basketball, a popular annual event that benefits Suncom Industries. Suncom Industries is a private, non-profit organization providing services to adults with disabilities. It offers many services to help people reach their potential to be a contributing member of their community. Suncom was the workplace of Dirk Sojka, the son of Gary and Sandy Sojka, until Dirk's passing in July 2002. This year's event was held surrounding December's Bison men's basketball game against Richmond.
For a second consecutive year, the Bucknell men's lacrosse program went through a unique preseason training session, called The Program, which focuses on maximizing leadership abilities as well as the physical skills needed to perform at a high level. The second segment highlights this beneficial experience.
A segment on the Bison women's rowing program concludes Bison Magazine. The program's new erg room is highlighted, as are some erg clinics the coaching staff and team members held at local middle schools to introduce the sport of rowing to area youths.
Bison Magazine airs three times a year on Bison Vision. Game previews, highlights and other features will continue to appear on Bison Vision on a regular basis. The next event to air live on Bison Vision will be a March 21 women's lacrosse game against Liberty.
